Court orders security personnel to vacate Bobi Wine’s premises

The High Court in Kampala has this morning, January 25th, 2021 ordered security personnel to vacate the premises of National Unity Platform President and former Presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine in Magere, Wakiso District.

This comes after Hon Kyagulanyi’s legal team to the courts of law to demand for the freedom of their NUP’s party president who has been under house arrest since election day on January 14th, 2021.

The security forces had blocked access to his home to not just his party members but also relatives, lawyers and anybody else. Within that period of time, Bobi Wine and wife, Barbie Kyagulanyi were also not allowed out of their home.

Security personnel said they were there to offer him protection as well as maintain law and order after they suspected that he would stage protests following the declaration of incumbent President Museveni in the presidential election which he (Bobi Wine) believes were rigged.

On Thursday, January 21st, 2021, Bobi Wine’s legal team led by party lawyer and Busiro East member of parliament Medard Lubega Segona took to court to demand for Bobi WIne’s freedom and the case was adjourned by Justice Michael Elubu of the High Court in Kampala to today, January 25th, 2021.

So the high court ruled in favor of National Unity Platform and ordered the security forces (both Military and Police) to vacate Bobi Wine’s home.

if this ruling is put into effect, Bobi Wine will be a free man again and will be in position not only to receive visitors at his home in Magere but also move about his businesses as usual.
