Mrs Proscovia Musoke Mayanja, mother to celebrated musician Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone has revealed that she was unhappy and hurt when her son was denied the National Unity Platform flag bearer’s card in the previously concluded general elections.
Chameleone who was contesting for Mayoral seat in Kampala City was denied the NUP flag bearers card in favor of Hon. Latif Ssebagala, and later lost the race to the incumbent, FDC’s Elias Lukwago.
While speaking to BBS Television, Chameleone’s mother said that she believes he would have made it through if he had run with the backing of the NUP party.
“If Chameleon had the NUP card he would obviously go through”

Chameleone’s mother noted that her son has been friends with Bobi Wine for as long as she can remember and expected the artist to stand with his long time friend as he went after his dream.
“The way Chameleon and Bobi Wine have been struggling together in the music industry, it was unfair for Bobi Wine to betray his long time friend Chameleon.”

The mother to the Mayanja’s added that if she had access to Bobi WIne, she would have let her feelings known to him and ask him why he could not trust her son, Chameleone with the NUP card.
“But the problem is that I can’t easily get close to Bobi Wine because he is overprotected.” She stated.
