President Museveni distances UPDF from abduction accusations

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni distanced Uganda Peoples Defense Force(UPDF) from being involved in stories of kidnappings that have dominated story headlines in the recent past in Uganda.

During the presidential address that took place on February 13th, 2021, HE Museveni assured Ugandans that UPDF is very disciplined and can never involve itself in such calibre of conduct (Kidnaps).

“UPDF is a very disciplined force. When we took over Kampala, many didn’t run away because it was a people’s force. No single shot was fired when we took over Kampala. We didn’t even touch Uganda House, UPC property.” Museveni stated.

The commander in chief for UPDF requested Ugandans not to mix up UPDF with such bad conducts.

“Please don’t mix us up (UPDF) with such low calibre conducts (Kidnaps).” Said the President.

These statements come after so many Ugandans have been kidnapped and many still missing at the hands of armed people using numberless Toyota Hiace vehicles that have come to be baptized “Drones”.

However, the men that pick up Ugandans don’t identify themselves hence calling it kidnapping because the picked up people are taken to unknown places.
