President Museveni is insensitive – Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago

The Kampala City Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago has labelled President Museveni insensitive after the president dismissed allegations that the security forces were responsible for the alleged kidnappings in the country.

The President dismissed the allegations of kidnaps and highlighted that no Ugandan will be unaccounted for under the National Resistance Movement reign revealing that all those that have been labeled missing are in the hands of security for investigations.

The President also claimed that the arrests were and are being made following the November 2020 riots as well as a few scenarios of misbehavior by various people and not just random arrests as being reported by media.

In response to the president’s speech, the Kampala Lord Mayor accused Museveni of demonstrating a lot of insensitivity towards people that are suffering and those that have lost loved ones.

“What happened was Mr Museveni demonstrating a lot of insensitivity towards the suffering of Uganda and showing a character of a person who is onto of the situation saying yes “we shall crush you”.”

Lukwago also added that the president did not give a detailed account and information of the whereabouts of the people that are “missing” as well as an update of what is happening in the country as he should have done.

“I think his (President Museveni) speech wasn’t about giving detailed information about what is going on in the country. He confessed that some people are in the hands of security organs who are not supposed do so.”
