The Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Kampala, Cyprian Kizito Lwanga has asked the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government to resist from evil acts such as kidnapping and abducting its citizens.
While talking to congregants at Rubaga Cathedral yesterday, Lwanga asked the security forces serving under the ruling government not to be tempted to degenerate into evil acts like the forces during the Amin and Obote regimes.
In response to the President’s speech earlier on Saturday, in which the president confirmed knowledge of the arrests of people that had come to be labelled as kidnappings, Lwanga said that gives the nation hope.
“This has given us hope because the Security minister said they did not know who was arresting the people. I remember when NRM came to power, the President said they came to resist the politics and leadership of Idi Amin and Milton Obote regimes,”

Lwanga added that the NRM government should maintain it’s stand in protecting human rights and continue resisting committing any evil acts such as abductions, torture and killings of people.
“If this is still the same National Resistance Movement, I call upon your government to continue resisting the evil abductions, torture and killings of people,”
