Former president of the Uganda Music Association, Sophie Gombya revealed that she will not be returning to run for the position again.
Artist Sophie Gombya was the president of UMA for almost one and a half years but she decided to step down before her term expired because she wanted to participate in active national politics.
During an interview with NBS Kurt, revealed how she is not interested in becoming the UMA president anymore.
“I resigned from UMA because I respected its constitution. Not in bad faith but am not returning as the President of UMA.” Sophie stated.
During her interview, Sophie Gombya said the reason why she not returning as the president of UMA it’s because she believes there are potential people like Sophie Nantongo who can take it on.
“I believe there are more capable people who can lead the association. I’m looking at either @isaacrucci or Sophie Nantongo as the potential candidates that can take on the role of Uganda Musicians Association (UMA)’s presidency.“ She stated.
