Following the announcement of the election petition challenging President Museveni’s victory in the January 14th Presidential Election by National Unity Platform president, Kyagulanyi Sentamu, the party say they are not aorried about the costs.
Speaking at the press brief at the party headquarters in Kamwokya, NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi has revealed that they are not worried about incurring costs of withdrawing the electon petition.
Ssenyonyi highlighted that the party and the nation at large has been paying the price ever since they decided top challenge President Museveni.
“We are not worried about the costs because ultimately, we have been paying the price ever since we decided to challenge President Museveni, look at how many lives we have lost. What is more expensive than life?”Joel Ssenyonyi, NUP Spokesperson.
According to Ssenyonyi, the costs of challenging President Museveni far outweigh the costs they would incur if they withdraw the case, as the former include loss of life which is far more costly than money.
This follows after the NUP president Kyagulanyi Sentamu asked his lawyers to withdraw the election petition challenging the presidential elections while the NRM legal team threatened to sue Kyagulanyi if he had withdrawn the petition.
