Sheila Kawamara a veteran journalist said that former presidential candidate Hon Kyagulanyi Robert alias Bobi Wine is just playing on the minds of people that voted him by withdrawing his election petition.
During the Journalists show with NBS, Sheila said the public trusted Hon Kyagulanyi as their leader and were eagerly waiting for the Court’s decision. But it’s unfortunate of what Bobi Wine did by withdrawing and she thinks he is playing on minds of his voters.
“The court of the people is silent and watching. They trusted him as their leader. I think he is playing on the minds of his voters, unfortunately.” Sheila stated.
Hon Kyagulanyi is not the first leader to seek courts help, Dr.Kiiza Besigye did so as well as Hon Amama Mbabazi. According to Sheila Bobi Wine didn’t make any news going to courts of law and he knew the results. So he wouldn’t have withdrawn the petition if it wasn’t a stunt.
The veteran journalists said politicians have taken their voters for granted. The petition wasn’t for Kyagulanyi it was for his voters and while withdrawing he didn’t inquire his voters to withdraw the petition and that also showed he is a political player.
“Sometimes our politicians take us for granted. That petition wasn’t for Kyagulanyi. It was for the people that voted for him, that need justice. That means he is a political player.”
