Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party spokesperson and Member of Parliament for Kira Municipality, Hon Ibrahim Semujju Nganda has revealed that the party has no intentions of attending the Inter-Party Organisation for Dialogue (IPOD) summit scheduled for this Friday.
According to Hon Ssemujju, the Party President, Hon Patrick Oboi Amuriat will write to IPOD to highlight why their reasons to excuse themselves from the summit which will be chaired by the President.
Ssemujju added that FDC Party President, Hon Patrick Oboi Amuriat was tortured during the campaign period and he is not in the right state of mind to meet his tormentor, President Museveni.

Ssemujju believes that basing on the Party’s past interaction with Museveni are what have informed their decision not to get involved with any activities that have President Museveni involved.
“History is knowledge to other people. Our interaction with Museveni has made us come to the conclusion FDC has made. We feel sorry not to be attending the summit because we are part of IPOD, but one of the reasons we are not attending is Gen. Museveni.”Hon Ibrahim Semujju Nganda, FDC Party Spokesperson.
He also added that IPOD has been tuned into a social club where people just go, sit and feel good and FDC are not ready to feel good when the people they represent and speak for are not feeling good.
In response, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary-General, Justine Kasule Lumumba said that FDC’s seat will be reserved at the summit on Friday and they will be expected to attend.

The IPOD summit shall take place on Friday, March 5th, 2021 at Kololo Independence Grounds and will be chaired by President Museveni. The summit will handle the post elections issues.
