IPOD is only asking the lion to account for lost sheep – Sarah Bireete

The Inter-Party Organization for Dialogue-IPOD summit is scheduled to take place tomorrow (Friday, March 5th, 2021) at Kololo Independence Grounds, with President Museveni chairing the event.

Several political parties that have representation in Parliament including DP, FDC, JEEMA, NRM and UPC, and signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the IPOD are all meant to attend but some of these have promised not to set foot in Kololo.

Among those that have confirmed attendance are the Democratic Party and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) whose chairperson , President Yoweri Museveni will be the summit chair.

The Democratic Party promised to demand for accountability of the missing persons from the government when the summit takes place.

Commenting on DP’s move to demand for accountability from the government, Sarah Bireete, the Executive Director at Center for Constitutional Governance (CCG) said that the move can only be likened to asking a lion to account for missing sheep.
