Following the death of Tanzania President John Pombe Magufuli, his vice president Samia Suluhu is set to be the next president of Tanzania.
H.E Magufuli died on Wednesday 17thMarch In Tanzania. The vice president said Magufuli had heart problems which finally led to his death.
According to Tanzania’s constitution, Vice president Samia Suluhu Hassan will be sworn in as Tanzania President and will lead for the remainder of Magufuli’s term until 2025.
Magufuli had just been re-elected in last year’s November.
If sworn in, Samia Suluhu will become the first ever female President of Tanzania.
Magufuli became the president of Tanzania in 2015 after defeating Jakaya Kikwete. Magufuli who scoffed at Covid19 dies at 61years of age.
