Newly elected Member of Parliament for Kawempe North Constituency Ssegirinya Muhammed might be thrown out of parliament due to fake documents.

Following a court petition by Serwadda Sulaiman Kidandala who is challenging the academic credentials of Ssegirinya Muhammad (formerly called Ssegirinya Richard), the newly elected Member of Parliament for Kawempe North, the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) revealed that the yet to be sworn in MP’s academic documents are not in his names.

According to a letter issued by Mr. Peter Anywar, the UNEB Executive Secretary, the UNEB candidate numbers on Ssegirinya’s O level and A level belong to other people.

“Candidate U0053/054 (2007 is Nampiima Sarah who sat at Mengo Secondary School not Ssegirinya Richard sitting at Pimba’s Secondary School,” part of the letter reads.

“Candidate U0053/754 (2009) is Nabadda Maureen who sat at Mengo Secondary School not Ssegirinya Richard sitting at Pimbas Secondary School,” the letter reads further.

Anywar further indicated that both serial numbers on Ssegirinya’s academic certificates are fake, therefore the documents were not issued by the board.

The next step will be revealed after court’s ruling to see whether “Mr. Updates” will go to parliament or he’ll remain on the streets of Kawempe.
