Gagamel Boss Bebe Cool real names Ssali Moses has cried out to the president, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to render financial assistance to bedridden fellow artist Evelyne Lagu before bailing out the struggling creative arts industry.
The “Wakayima” made the alarm during the fundraising drive for the singer cum Zubair Family actress who is in dire need of finances worth shs 250million to have a kidney transplant abroad.
Bebe Cool applauded fellow artists’ goodwill towards providing financial assistance to Evelyn Lagu and highlighted the need for President Museveni’s intervention to save Evelyne Lagu’s life even before attending to the hungry and struggling acts in the local entertainment industry.
It must be remembered that ever since business came to a standstill in the local entertainment industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic, entertainers can’t do enough to contribute towards Evelyne Lagu’s worrying health condition.
“I thank God that journalists are around, please help take this message to President Museveni. The pandemic paralysed our business as musicians but I would suggest that even before thinking about bailing out local musicians, the President should provide financial assistance to our sister Evelyne Lagu,” Bebe Cool stated.
The fundraising event took place yesterday, March 27th, 2021 at the Freedom City mall along Entebbe Road and was well attended with various artists coming together for the cause.
