Brig. Flavia Byekwaso sheds light on heavy deployment of security

Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF) Spokesperson Brig. Flavia Byekwaso has thrown light about the heavy deployment of both the police and military around Kampala and the surrounding areas.

The heavy deployment comes just days to the run-up to the swearing ceremony of president elect H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, 12th May 2021.

Brig. Flavia Byekwaso said its important for the government to deploy security around the country because they have information that there are some people planning to muddle the swearing ceremony of President Museveni.

“Yes we have heavily deployed security around the country. We have information that there are some people planning to destroy the swearing in ceremony saying President Museveni will not swear in and that’s the main reason for the deployment because we need peace in the country” Brig. Flavia said.

She went ahead and said Ugandans should not be scared of these security people because they are not in the community to harm anyone but rather protect Ugandans and their property.

She made these statements during an interview with NBS Television during the organization of Kololo Stadium for the swearing in.
