Police aware that Bobiwine plots to swear in himself as president – Fred Enanga

Police has been reliably tipped about a plot that National Unity Platform (NU weP) party presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi alais Bobi Wine is planning to swear in himself as elected President of Uganda in Iganga, Spokesperson Fred Enanga has said on Monday

Bobiwine has been insistent that he was robbed off his victory in last year’s Presidential elections and declares himself the elected President of Uganda.

“We know that such kangaroo swearing-in is common with first runners up. This is an act of impunity that is illegal and treasonous,” said Enanga.

Earlier today, Bobi Wine through his social media claimed that his home in Magere has beenie surrounded by police and the military.

However, Enanga said that their teams are on patrol to stop any kind of threat. He added that they even have teams trolling and monitoring cyberspace for bad images and false messages aimed at inciting the public to disrupt the swearing-in.

“Whatever process is going on is very legal and legitimate (swearing-in). Those who want to disrupt are the ones in the wrong,” he said.

Enanga also discouraged the public from coming to Kololo for the swearing-in.

He said, “The event will be broadcast live, you can follow from the media so that you are not inconvenienced.”
President Museveni is set to swear in as president of Uganda on 12th May 2021.
