Speaking good English doesn’t mean going to school – Geoffrey Lutaya

Musician Geoffrey Lutaya, elected Member of Parliament has believes speaking good English doesn’t mean going to school.

He made the statement after he was sworn in as Kakuuto Member of Parliament on 19th May, 2021

Geoffrey is one of the people who persued adult education in order to have academic documents to contest as the MP.

Despite speaking poor English, Lutaya managed to take his oath in English. This is where he got the guts to reckon that speaking good English doesn’t mean going to school because he knows many people who speak good English but don’t have academic documents.

“I have managed to swear in as Kakuuto Mp in English and I am proud. Seaking good English doesn’t mean going to school. I know so many people wth good English but no academic documents.” Lutaya excitedly said.

Lutaya said he drew his inspiration from National Unity Platform president Robert Kyagulanyi who is also an artist.

He called on his fellow artists who don’t have academic documents to go and study because Education is the only way to go.
