National Unity Platform president Hon Robert Kyagulanyi commonly known as Bobi Wine is over the moon after his best friend Nubian Li, Eddie Mutwe and 16 others were granted bail.
The NUP prisoners were granted bail yesterday 14th June, 2021 after spending five and a half months in prison.
Although some of the NUP supporters were released earlier, Bobi Wine’s closest friends like Nubian Li, Eddie Mutwe were denied bail on several occasions but calls for them to be released had become a daily bread.
During a press conference at NUP headquarters in Kamwokya after their release, Bobi Wine said he is very happy to see his colleagues free and even stronger after spending some time in prison.
“I am very happy today to see my friends and supporters finally out of prison, free and stronger after spending some time in prison.” Bobi Wine said.
Bobi Wine said some people easily give up after being tortured and staying in prison but he is happy that Nubian Li, Eddie Mutwe and others remained strong.
According to Bobi Wine these NUP supporters were arrested for no reason as they didn’t commit any crime.
