Controversial socialite Charles Oryem aka Sipapa has now spent around two days behind bars after being picked up by police in Makindye this week.
Sipapa was picked from one of the hotels in Makindye alongside singer Record Elah of the ‘Bakabasajja banyuma’ song. Record Elah’s girlfriend was also taken along.
However Sipapa’s lawyer said none of them knew what the reason behind Sipapa’s arrest was.
“Sipapa was arrested alongside his driver singer Record Elah and his girlfriend. However Sipapa’s SFC guards were not arrested. He’s currently at Kiira road police station.” Sipapa’s lawyer said.
It’s however rumored that Sipapa was arrested on charges of gun possession.
The lawyer added that Sipapa’s arrest was politically motivated as he has people fighting him.
It should be noted that last year around September Sipapa went and fired gunshots in Kamwokya around Bobi Wine’s Fire base records.
The lawyer added that Kiira police officers only said that they got an order from the director of crime prevention to arrest Sipapa.
