Government of Uganda through the ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development has advised Ugandans to avoid schemers about the covid19 lockdown relief money that is to be given to them.
Through their twitter handle, they have told Ugandans to avoid the web based link circulating on social media calling on the public to register for covid19 support grant, it’s a scheme.
“The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development has noted with concern a web based link circulating on different social media platforms calling on public to register for ‘Covid19 support grant’. The link is using the web address https:\supportfund-gov.free-fund.online and the link promises payment within 24Hours of purported approval. Thee notice serves to caution the public against this scheme.” The press release read.
This came after RT Hon Prime Minister Hon Robinna Nabanja said government is going to give the vulnerable Ugandans some money to let them pass through this second lockdown of Covid19.
Last year 2020 March in the first lockdown Ugandans were given Posho and beans but the process didn’t go well that’s why they have decided to give out money.
On the same Notice the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social development read that the process of identifying which people are to receive the money is still in process so Ugandans should wait for the official Government Communication.
