The President of Uganda H. E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has ordered police to crack down people who announce him dead and sick on social media.
The rumors about President Museveni started spreading last week on facebook and twitter yet he is healthy and a live.
President Museveni said most of these people who spread baseless and tasteless news are Ugandans in the diaspora.
“We need to crack down on the people that are misemploying social media, including the Ugandans abroad. Many are now using it to spread baseless and tasteless news with total abandon. I call upon police and the whole security to look into this. It must be stopped, get these people.” President Museveni said.
Social media users didn’t only announce the death of President Museveni but they also announced the death of his son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
President Museveni said this is a bad act because some people are likely to believe in these rumors something that is not good.
