Uganda Police Force is on the run to arrest social media bloggers who announced President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the last two weeks.
According to Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) spokes person Charles Atwine people that announced President Museveni dead are from the opposition political party NUP and UCC is trying to track them down.
The few bloggers on the list of those who have been tracked for spreading the fake news of President Museveni are Wisdom Kaye, Peng Peng and a one Lumbuye among others.
“We are looking for social media bloggers who announced President Museveni dead. UCC has tracked those people and their phones like Wisdom Kaye, Peng Peng, Lumbuye and many others. They are going to be answerable in courts of law.” Charles Atwine said.
Police in Luweero over the weekend also arrested a 23 year old man who is NUP coordinator in the area for spreading all the fake news on social media and to people around him.
However, it should be noted that some of these bloggers mentioned don’t reside in Uganda but are Ugandans living in the Diaspora.
