Uganda National Examination Board has revealed that Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results will be released on Friday 16th July 2021.
The announcement was made by UNEB spokesperson Jennifer Kalule Musumba.
Jennifer said the UNEB Executive Secretary Dan Odongo will on Wednesday July 14 brief the Minister for Education and Sports Janet Museveni on the 2020 Primary Leaving Examination Results before releasing them on Friday July 16, 2021.
“PLE results will be released on Friday 16th July 2021although we had planned to release them in June, Covid19 destructed us. But we think now it’s the right time.” Jennifer Said.
Although schools are currently closed, she told reporters that UNEB needs to ensure that examination results are released earlier so as to fit in the available school calendar.
The 2021 academic year is scheduled to begin on September 20, 2021.
According to UNEB, a total of 749,811 candidates are registered to sit for PLE.
Despite, the COVID-19 pandemic disruptions, the total number of the candidates were above the 2019 figure of 695,468 with a range of over 10,000 candidates.
