UMA to elect new president in September

Uganda Musician Association (UMA) to change leadership through elections in September 2021.

The announcement was made by the current president of UMA, singer Cinderella Sanyu.

According to Cindy, UMA was supposed to get new leadership in early 2021 but Covid19 became a very bigger problem, many artists couldn’t move and they decided to postpone it to September 2021.

Cindy said this time, nothing will destruct them even if it’s Covid19 because artists badly want new leadership and they are willing to give it to them.

“UMA as an association has decided to get new leadership in September this year because we have made artists wait for long. We were supposed to elect early this year but Covid19 became a problem but am assuring you this time we shall have elections.” Cindy Sanyu said.

Cindy Sanyu was not initially elected as the President but after Ykee Benda who was the president resigned Cindy who was his deputy took it on.

Despite some artists going against her, Cindy said she has strongly worked and her impact on the art industry is clearly seen.
