Uganda Police Force has warned schools over celebrations for Primary Leaving Examinations celebrations.
This came after the results were officially released and announced today by the Minister of Education and Sports Mama Janet K Museveni.
According to Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga, no schools is allowed to hold any celebration because students will easily get exposed to Covid19.
“As we congratulate all P.7 leavers, we would like to warn all schools against violating the pandemic rules by holding school celebrations over the 2020 PLE results. Students can easily get exposed to the deadly virus during such risky settings.” Fred Enanga said.
Enanga said schools are advised to postpone the celebrations to some other time and if they violet SOPs charges and penalities will be imposed on them.
“Therefore, all Headteachers are advised to either postpone the school celebrations to some future time when schools are reopened or hold a virtual celebration instead. RememberRemember there are harsh consequences in form of fines, penalties and punishments for COVID-19 offenders,”
It should be noted that PLE results have been released in the second wave of Covid19 lockdown.
