Updates about Fred Lumbuye’s deportation saga

Kawempe North MP Hon Ssegirinya Muhammad has come up with updates about NUP’s blogger Fred Lumbuye deportation saga.

According to Ssegirinya, Fred Lumbuye will not be deported as the Minister of Foreign Affairs Oryem had said. He has rather went to Netherlands and now is in safe hands and doing well.

“Fred Lumbuye will not be deported. Our team with Hon Zaake Francis have done a great job and our comrade has been taken to Netherlands Amsterdam. He is in safe hands and doing well.” Ssegirinya said.

However, Ssegirinya said Ugandans should keep demanding for Fred Lumbuye because the government said he will be deported yesterday.

Fred Lumbuye was arrested on Tuesday by the Turkish police for unidentified reasons. Some say it’s because of over staying Turkey with an expired passport while Uganda’s government says it’s because he has been giving fake information through social media.
