Performing artists to be included in ’emyooga’ project – President Museveni

Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said performing artists will be catered for in the “emyoga’ project that kicked off in 2020.

He made the statement during his address to the nation about security matters on Saturday 14th 2021.

President Museveni said the ’emyooga’ project was put up to support the youth especially those without professional jobs so that they start up their own business and save money.

“Performing artists are among the group of people who are to be catered for in the ’emyooga’ project”

However, President Museveni said some people are complaining that the starting money is very little but he advised them to use it the way it is and save the profits so that they can expand their businesses.

It should be noted that the entertainment industry employs 60% of the youth despite almost two years under lockdown.
