I won’t end up like Keko – Vinka says

Swangz Avenue singer Veronica Lugya aka Vinka has come out to defend herself after penning a contract with global music group, Sony Music two years ago.

The Malaika singer said that her parent label Swangz Avenue cut a good deal for her with Sony.

She added that Sony is only responsible for distribution of her music.

Vinka then said for Keko, it was due to poor management that stalled and destroyed her career.

“You need a team to prosper and I am grateful to have that. I do not think the other artists sign fake contracts, the biggest problem is not having a team that understands your brand. Keko needed management to back her up,” Vinka said while appearing in a local interview.

It should be noted that Keko was one of the most promising female rappers in the early 2011’s.

Her career however failed due to a number of controversies but most especially drugs.

Another artiste who faded after signing a global contract is former Swangz Avenue singer Irene Ntale.

She signed with Universal Music Group but since then, her career has gone into airplane mode.
