Fred Lumbuye finally released from detention

National Unity Platform blogger Fred Lumbuye has been finally released from Turkey Detention Center.

It was confirmed by NUP’s president Robert Kyagulanyi through his official social media platforms.

“I am very glad that after several months in detention, political activist Fred Kajubi Lumbuye was yesterday released from jail in Turkey. I am very grateful to the legal team, our diaspora leadership and all Ugandans who did everything to see that he gets his freedom.”

This came few months after the Turkish government arrested him for being in their country illegally.

However according to the Minister of foreign affairs, Lumbuye’s arrest also included his social media misuse behavior.

It should be noted that Lumbuye is one of those people who announced the death of president Museveni on social media.
