UPRS to start paying artists registered with them

Uganda Performing Rights Society has vowed to start paying artists who are registered under them.

This was revealed by one of their board members Kaye Wisdom.

According to Kaye Wisdom, UPRS has spent two years without paying any of their members because of Covid19 but now since Covid19 has reduced they are looking forward to start from where they had stopped.

“We as UPRS we want to start paying artists registered with us because we have not paid them for close to two years. But we shall have to first train our people and let them know everything concerning UPRS.” Kaye Wisdom said

Kaye Wisdom said different Ugandan big artists are not registered under UPRS for reasons he is not aware. He however called on all artists especially the upcoming ones to register because it is very helpful.

It should be noted that UPRS is a body that collects money from media houses on behalf of artists.
