Ykee Benda cries to gov’t to reduce data taxes

Singer Tugume Wycliffe commonly known as YKee Benda has cried to Ugandan government to reduce data taxes.

He did so during an interview with NBS Television.

According to Ykee Benda, high data expenses have denied many Ugandans a chance to support their artists online because they can’t afford data to stream. He said if government could look into this and reduce, maybe Ugandans could genuinely support artists.

“Government should reduce data taxes so that our fans can support us online. Compared to other countries, they are far than us because their data is not expensive.” Ykee Benda said

Ykee Benda also asked his fans to keep streaming although data is very high.

It should be noted that Ugandan artists have spent two years without working, and the few have tried to earn from online platforms.
