Healthy workers strike over low salaries

Uganda healthy workers have launched a strike over low salaries.

This launch was announced by Uganda Medical Association today that they will stop working from mid night 21st November 2021.

“Health workers launch sit down strike in protest of gov’t failure to enhance their salaries and give them PPEs.
Doctors, Medical interns, Nurses, pharmacists and consultants working in public hospitals say starting midnight tonight, they won’t come in to work.”

However according to the ICT Minister and a medical worker Chris Baryomunsi, what medical workers are doing does not make sense. Government has already started the process of increasing their salary.

Chris Baryomunsi advised all medical workers to go and work and in case of any problem they should engage government directly.
