Disagreements have broken out among the members of the late Sheikh Nuhu Batte Muzaata over the rightful heir.
During the Duwa prayers organized on Saturday that were attended by some bigwigs especially from the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, Anwar Ssessanga, Muzaata’s son with Dr Kulthum Muzaata was named heir.
Kulthum said that other members of the family were trying to denounce the late Sheikh’s wishes by refusing to recognize her son.
She added that Muzaata had picked Anwar before his death and all other family members know of the late’s wishes.
Kulthum maintained that her son is the rightful heir and he will ascend to the position because his father watches over him.
However after learning of Kulthum’s move, the other family members headed by Muzaata’s first wife Hajjat Amina Bigirita, another Duwa ceremony was held for the late Sheikh in Kigoogwa along Bombo road.
This ceremony attracted the biggest bigwigs including Sheikh’s from Kibuli mosque.
Some of the notable attendees m included lord mayor Erias Lukwago, NUP principle Bobi Wine and Kassim Nakibinge among others.
According to Farouk Muzaata the caretaker of the late Sheikh Muzaata’s businesses, Amjad Ssozi who was sired by the late Sheikh and Bugirita is the rightful heir.
He said that Amjad couldn’t attend as he’s currently in the US but soon as he comes back, his honors will be bestowed upon him.
Ever since the death of Muzaata who was the leader of the Duwa sect in Uganda, his family especially his two wives have been embroiled in property battles.
