Is another lockdown pending? Minister Ruth Aceng provides worrying COVID-19 update

The world has suddenly forgotten the past two-years which seemed like eternity. A period that made time stand still and everything come to a shuttering hold.

This was after the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic that ravaged the world apart. However, a number of measures were prescribed to deal with it and bring it to a low.

These included wearing face masks, avoiding shaking hands and touching surfaces. The precautions were numerous before vaccination was brought on board.

This went along away in severing the disease and helped in the world reopening fully. What’s worrying is however that most people have forgotten about these measures as if the disease was dealt away with completely.

In Uganda, the Minister of Health Dr Jane Ruth Aceng has come out to provide an update that might send shivers down every Ugandans spine.

Hon Aceng says that there has been an observance in the increase of COVID-19 cases compared to the stable trends observed in January prior to the full economy reopening.

She however says that the country is prepared to save lives as fast as they can. According to Aceng, there is no plan of a lockdown or travel restrictions. They will use the tools and means available to suppress the virus.

She goes ahead to advise people to take the precautions seriously and keep on mind that the virus is still around.
