Musician Cindy Sanyu has come out to laugh at fellow musician King Saha’s claims that he will swear himself in as the new UMA president.
Saha a few days ago revealed how he intends to swear himself in as the president of the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA).
This is after the Ministry of Gender suspended the UMA elections until further notice. However Cindy said that when Besigye swore himself in after the 2016 General elections, it didn’t make him the president.
She’s therefore still the president of UMA until a new leader is officially elected and sworn in.
“There is no one who can swear themselves in as the president of UMA unless elections are carried out by the necessary authorities. Did Besigye swearing himself in make him the president? Therefore I think someone might just waste their time and end up like that. Musicians should be firm, UMA has me as their president and rhe cabinet is available, ” said Cindy.
It should be noted that the elections were slated for June. They however flopped twice with the first being the vehemently rejected virtual election. The second didn’t happen as the Ministry of Gender stepped in and suspended them.
The main race is between King Saha and Cindy.
