Breaking news: Here is first Ugandan famous doctor to be claimed by Ebola

The Ebola epidemic has claimed the life of the very first medical personnel in Uganda.

Taking to her Twitter page,, the health Ministry Dr Jane Ruth Acenf delivered the dad news..

The deceased is a middle aged man from Tanzania who was working.

His names have been identified as Dr Mohammed Ali a 37 year old.

Dr Mohammed contracted the deadly disease on September 26th.

He has been receiving treatment and isolating at Fort Portal RRH, Isolation Facility and sadly for him and the country at large, he couldn’t win this battle.

“I regret to announce that we have lost our first doctor, Dr Mohammed Ali, a Tanzanian National, 37yr old Male today at 3:15am. He tested positive of Ebola on Sept 26, 2022 and died while receiving treatment at Fort Portal RRH, Isolation facility ( JMedic).”

He’s the first doctor and second health practitioner to succumb to the disease after a midwife at St Florence Clinic before testing for the disease.

It should be noted that the last wave of the ebola outbreak claimed very many lives of doctors and nurses.

The government however recently said that there is no need to panic as the country is in a good state to manage the outbreak of the deadly contagious disease.
