The first son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has been dropped by his father President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in a new reshuffle in the UPDF Land Forces wing.
Muhoozi who has occupied this role for two years was however retained as the special presidential advisor on Special Operations.
Muhoozi however saw his rank promoted from Lieutenant General to a full General.
In the same vein, the Commander-in-Chief, President Museveni promoted Major General Muhanga Kayanja to the rank of Lieutenant General.
Consequently, Muhanga was named the new Commander of the Land Forces.
This has been interpreted by many as a plot by the government and Museveni to set pace for the much rumored Muhoozi project.
A few days ago Muhoozi said that his father’s government of the older generation will give way to the younger people led by him to steer the coubtry ahead.
Taking to his Twitter page, Muhoozi said that he and his supporters are going to have a party on Kampala road for this rank before thanking his father.
