The 5th edition of the Ekkula Tourism Awards were launched yesterday at Media Centre by Martin Mugarra state minister of tourism wildlife and antiquities.
The prestigious awards which 5th year despite the two year absence due to the outbreak of covid 19 are organised by the Ministry of tourism to recognise the best performing stake holders in the tourism sector in different categories.
Ekkula awarding ceremony will take place on 1st December 2022 at Sheraton Hotel Kampala and will be running under a theme “ Rethinking Tourism and Promotion of Green Initiatives.
This year’s edition unlike in the previous years will involve regional quality assement and sustainability training workshops.
And the first regional export will take place in Mbale on 14th October 2022, Gulu 21st October ,Fortportal 28th October and lastly in Kampala city on 4th November .
Speaking to the media ,Minster Martin Mugarra was pleased to to launch the fifth edition of Ekkula pearl of Africa awards.
“ladies and gentlemen , I officially declare nominations for the 2022 Ekkula Tourism Awards nominations for the categories open as per set criteria and am looking forward to seeing more of you participate in the tourism sector as the opportunities are endless and enormous.
