Housen Mushema was born on March 29, 1992. He is 28-years-old.
Housen Mushema was born in Jinja and was raised in Bweyogerere. He is the last born child in his family. The model & acting star is a devoted Muslim who was raised by his mother and father who is a well-known tailor in Kampala. Through the influence of his father’s tailored clothes, he was introduced to fashion.
He went to East High School Ntinda and furthered his education at the Makerere University.
While in University, he had to step out of his shell and work towards paying his tuition fee as his father’s condition didn’t allow him to work any further.
Housen Mushema started his career as a model and to expand his career he also started making television appearances as an actor.
Housen Mushema started modelling while was doing his second year in university. He was then forced to get a job which will pay for his tuition when his father fell ill.
He landed his first gig was as an usher at events. This was before he started appearing in any magazines.
In 2015, he was signed by Joram Model Management (JMM). After signing with JMM in Housen Mushema found himself being the centre of attraction at the Abryanz Style and Different Fashion awards.
After cementing the slot of being a renowned model, Housen Mushema was approached to work with different shows which were local and international.
He was part of the Kampala Fashion Week in 2014, Purple Ryan Hub, Malengo Fashion Show, the Swahili Fashion Week, The bride and Groom Expo in 2014 and 2016, Genesis Night by Hellen Lukoma in 2014 and Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Housen Mushema has also featured on several magazines in Uganda including the likes of Bride and Groom Magazines, the Flair and more. He has collaborated with designers such as Jose Hendo from New York, Martha Jabo from Uganda, Motions from Rwanda, and many more designers.
Following his success, Housen Mushema proceeded to produce the Hijab and Kanzu fashion show in 2016 which he co-produced and he continued to the Vintage fashion show alongside his boss Joram Muzira in 2017.
Housen Mushema had his acting debut in 2014 when he landed a role in Shakespeare’s play Macbeth. During the same year, he landed a role in The Hostel which was produced by Fast Truck Productions and he played the role of Soke.
After his debut in 2014, it led to more roles. In 2016, he got a lead role as Balikoowa in the local comedy series Balikoowa in the City which was produced by Fast Truck Production.
In May 2017, Housen Mushema landed a role which he took over from Andrew Masa in the telenovela Second Chance. Its a Ugandan remake of a popular Telemundo, El Cuerpo del Deseo.
Housen Mushema landed yet another role and he played Mckenzie Mulumba in a television series directed and produced by Nana Kagga called Reflections. He acted along the sides of Malayika Nnyanzi, Cleopatra Koheirwe, Gladys Oyenbot and Andrew Kyamagero.
He appeared on several music videos including Otubattisa by Irene Ntale and Sheebah Karungi in 2014 and in Kyanagweby Leila Kayondo in 2017.
Housen Mushema landed a career-changing role when he landed the role Michael in 2018 on the drama, Veronica’s Wish.
