Uganda Martyrs rallied from a goal down to defeat resilient Lady Doves in the FUFA women super league match played at St. Gerald’s play grounds in Lubaga.
Catherine Nagadya and Sumaya Nalumu scored for Uganda Martyrs to cancel out a first half goal from Docus Kwikiriza as they claimed a massive home win to return to winning ways.
The Lubaga based side dominated the game from the start but they were not sharp in front of goal creating a couple of chances but they failed to Finnish them off.
Latifah Nakasi capitalized on a lose ball in the Doves defence but her powerful was shot pushed away for a corner by goalkeeper Rose Bamaniriza.
In the 42nd minute, Dorcus Kwikiriza put the visitors ahead after beating two Uganda Martyrs defenders and found herself with a keeper to beat effort which she took perfectly to score the opener on the day.
Uganda Martyrs came back in the second half a well organized side creating more goal scoring opportunities and in the 61st minute, Catherine Nagadya leveled the scores with a powerful shit which beat Kwikiriza.
With just a minute afte the equaliser, Sumaya Nalumu pounced on a lose ball and directed her shot towards goal beating the goalkeeper to put the hosts in a deserved lead.
Uganda Martyrs defended better to claim victory as they remain unbeaten at home and sit third on the log with 16 points.
In Mukono, UCU Lady Cardinals claimed a massive 3-2 victory against stubborn Olila side to stay second on the table with 16 points.
