Embattled former LOP and National Unity Platform deputy president for Buganda Mathias Mpuuga has said the country needs sober leaders to remove President Museveni from power.
He challenged aspiring leaders like Bobiwine and Besigye to be sober 24 hours a day if they are to change the country’s political situation.
Mpuuga said President Museveni who has always said he does not drink alcohol nor smoke thus aspiring leaders must pick a leaf from the president and lead by example.
“Tell those interested in leadership positions to stop going to bars, getting drunk and smoking marijuana,” Mpuuga said at a recent gathering in Mityana Municipality.
He made the statement following the issues he has been having with National Unity Platform as a political party and the party leaders.
They were not happy with Hon Mpuuga for taking money from government as they termed it as corruption money. They asked him to take it back and he refused and that is how they ended up not getting on the same page.
The member of parliament has maintained that he is actually still in NUP although they don’t recognize him.
