One Mega Hit is Better Than Dozens of Average Songs

Ugandan singer Kalifah AgaNaga has criticized the growing trend of artists releasing numerous songs without focusing on creating lasting hits.

Speaking on NBS After 5, the musician said he would rather have a single blockbuster record than a catalog filled with songs that fail to make an impact.

I would rather have one mega song than have so many,” he said, emphasizing that good music will always stand the test of time.

According to AgaNaga, quality music requires patience and dedication, but many artists today are rushing to release songs so frequently that they never get the chance to resonate with audiences beyond Uganda.

He argued that many of these records struggle to gain traction even in neighboring countries such as Kenya, limiting the artists’ regional and international reach.

The singer explained that investing time in creating one exceptional song can open far more opportunities than releasing multiple forgettable tracks.

A mega hit can get you a concert, a brand gig with MTN, and good money,” he said, adding that a genuine hit also helps an artist remain relevant for years.
