Former Kampala Lord Mayor and Kampala Central MP Erias Lukwago has reportedly been rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital in critical condition, according to an update shared by his former deputy, Doreen Nyanjura Omutatina.
The report has raised concern about Lukwago’s health, following previous reports that he had been experiencing several medical complications, including respiratory problems that reportedly caused severe breathing difficulties.
His reported health challenges have also included spinal complications, persistent upper limb radiculitis and severe pain around a previous surgical site.
Lukwago was reportedly advised to seek a review by his primary spine surgeons in India as part of efforts to address the spinal complications.
Doctors at Mulago Hospital had previously been unable to conduct a new MRI scan because they could not establish the type of artificial spinal implants used during his earlier surgery.
