Kapere’s Relatives Push for Exhumation and Reburial at Ancestral Home

Relatives of late Ugandan comedian Yokana Mbuuse, popularly known as Kapere Lufotose, are reportedly pushing to have his body exhumed and reburied at the clan’s ancestral home, days after his burial in Mukono District.

Kapere died on November 1, 2026, after reportedly collapsing during a school visit in Buddo, Wakiso District. He was buried on November 3 in Kiyunga, Mukono, on land he had purchased.

His manager and widow, Lydia Nakandi, popularly known as Mama Trump, said the burial followed Kapere’s wishes, which he had shared with her, close friends and their son.

However, some family members reportedly accuse the widow and, in some accounts, NUP officials of arranging the burial without properly involving them. They say they were denied the opportunity to participate fully in bidding him farewell and want his remains transferred to the clan’s ancestral burial grounds.

The dispute has drawn public attention, with the relatives’ customary claims seemingly clashing with the burial arrangements said to have followed Kapere’s wishes. The matter remains unresolved as of November 6, 2026, and the claims have mainly circulated through social media and local entertainment platforms.
