Besigye expected to grace FDC manifesto launch in Hoima on Thursday

Former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president and four time presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye is expected to grace the party’s manifesto launch in the Eastern district of Hoima on Thursday, 26th November, 2020, FDC’s flag bearer for the 2021 general elections Mr. Patrick Oboi Amuriat has confirmed.

Mr. Patrick Oboi Amuriat was supposed to launch the party’s manifesto on 9th November, 2020 in Soroti but postponed the function to a later date in Hoima reasoning that he could not launch the campaigns and the manifesto in the same region.

Mr. Amuriat also noted that Dr. Besigye is expected to make a key note speech and address important matters including his Plan B to defeat Museveni and what it entails.

“I am yet to confirm from him on whether he will be around with us in Hoima. …I have been telling the population his coming will boost our campaigns because he is well-known and he is my father in politics. So this will be another milestone for us,”

Mr. Patrick Oboi Amuriat emphasized that to ensure Dr. Besigye’s safety, the party will organize for the function to happen in an enclosed place and will only be accessed by only authorized persons.

“About his safety, we have made sure that we launch our campaign in an enclosed place so that we limit it to only invited people to reduce on the crowd. After the launch, we shall then address the public outside the enclosed area,”
