GNL Zamba real names Ernest Nsimbi has revealed that he wants to take on the responsibility of being the Chairperson of the Uganda Musician Association, an umbrella association that takes on musicians in Uganda.
The Baboon Forest Entertainment boss has stood up for Uganda’s music industry especially the Hip Hop genre by supporting young talents across the board.
Appearing on NBS Uncut show, the hip hop star, revealed that he wants to become the chairperson of the Uganda Musician Association (UMA) because he has plans to change a lot in the music industry.
“I want to become the chairperson of UMA because am good at forming groups and I know how to lobby which will make the music industry go further.”GNL Zamba
Having been in the music industry for more than 8 years, the multi-award-winning hip hop star said he has experience in the industry and he promises to work for musicians because he is a visionary person.
“Most of the musicians and people that live around me know I am a visionary person. That means I am the right person to lead the musicians.”GNL Zamba
The ‘Koyi Koyi’ hitmaker said the music industry has so many people with a negative attitude who always want to put established and talented musicians down. He said if he becomes the president that will be one of the issues he will sort.
He also added that the Uganda Musicians Associations should be able to support artists from all walks of life in Uganda without having to wait for the government because the government may not be that much interested in Ugandan artists.
