Makerere University releases program for 71st Graduation ceremony

Makerere Academic Registrar Alfred Masikye Namoah has released the program for the 71st Graduation ceremony.

The ceremony is scheduled for 17th – 21st May 2021.

The statement highlights that it’s an only-invite ceremony ‘blended’ with a few University officials, PhD graduants, masters graguants, and first class under graduates that will physical attend.

The rest of the graduates will attend by virtual means and the University’s social media platforms.

“At its 169th meeting held on 24th March 2021, the senate approved the proposal from the ceremonies committee to host a blended Graduation ceremony. This is therefore to inform you that the 71st Graduation Ceremony will be a blended one with few university officials, PhD graduants, masters graduants, and first class under graduates. The rest of the graduants and parents\gurdians will attend virtually. It will be live on television and transmitted on all Makerere University social media platforms. The ceremony is scheduled to take place from 17th to 21st May.” The statement read.

The statement read that all graduant’s names will be read out during the Live television coverage and social media platforms.

Different colleges will graduate on different days as noted below.

Monday 17th May 2021
• College of Natural Sciences
• College of Health Science
• School of law.
Tuesday 18th May 2021
• College of Agricultural and Environment Science
• College of Education and External studies
Wednesday 19th May 2021
• College of Business and Management Science
• College of Computing and Information Science
• College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resource and Bio Security

Thursday 20th May 2021
• Makerere University Business School
Friday 21st May 2021
• College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology
• College of Humanities and Social Sciences

It should be noted that this is the first time Makerere University holds a graduation ceremony virtually .
