Former 2021 Presidential aspirant and Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Hon Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine has gone on record accusing President Museveni of failing to explain how curfew is helping with the COVID-19 fight.

The National Unity Platform (NUP) President made the remarks while addressing the nation through his social media platforms on Sunday March 14th, 2021 evening.

Bobi Wine highlighted that the country can no longer move on well with the prevailing conditions of the 9 PM to 6 AM curfew that has crippled hundreds of businesses mostly in urban centers.

According to Bobi Wine, with his experience of growing up in the ghetto, the country has what he referred to as a night economy which is a source of livelihood to many Ugandans; and the continued curfew is only for political reasons.

“As a person that grew up in the ghetto, there is something called a night economy. Museveni has imposed a political curfew.”

Bobi Wine added that this continued curfew is only halting businesses because during day time, towns are packed to full capacity and the curfew is thus not helping with the fight in curfew and Museveni cannot explain how it (curfew) is helping.

“Many businesses are halted. During day time, towns are packed. He can’t explain how curfew is helping in the covid-19 fight,”
