Ndejje University chancellor Dr. Wilberforce passes on

Ndejje University has announced the passing of the University Chancellor, Dr Wilberforce Kisamba Mugerwa who passed on last evening, January 7th, 2020.

Dr. Wilberforce is said to have succumbed to COVID-19 at the Mulago National Referral Hospital where he had been admitted for treatment.

Ndejje University announced the passing of the University head via their social media platforms later in the evening.

“With profound shock, we announce the demise of our Chancellor, Dr. Wilberforce Kisamba Mugerwa.” – Part of the statement from the University read off of their Twitter platform.

Dr. Wilberforce Kisamba served in various ministerial positions before retiring from politics.

At the time of his demise, Dr. Wilberforce was at the helm of Ndejje University, serving as its chancellor.

Kisamba was last seen in public at the burial of his brother, Patrick Kisamba at Busunju, Mityana District on December 29 2020.

Many have gone on to mourn the fallen academician expressing loss of a strong and ardent leader, among which is former Justice Minister and Attorney General Khidu Makubuya

“He was among the people who convinced me to join politics in the early 1990s. The People of Luweero and the Country has lost one of its great sons,”
