Nubian, Eddie Mutwe, others charged with possession of ammunition

More than forty eight (48) members of National Unity Platform (NUP) campaign team who were arrested in Kalanga in December and later transferred to Masaka have been arraigned before Makindye Military court.

The members of hon. Kyagulanyi’s campaign team who include his close associate and singing partner Buken Ali alias Nubian Li as well as Edward Sebufu alias Eddie Mutwe, the head of his security have been charged with possession of ammunition.

They were arrested in Kalangala but transferred to various Police stations and Military Barracks which included MAsaka Military barracks, Kalanga Police Station as well as MAsaka Police Station.

They were arraigned before the Masaka Magistrates court earlier this week and applied for bail. Many of them were granted bail unlike the rest including Nubian Li and Eddie Mutwe.

Reports indicate that Eddie Mutwe, Nubian Li and other colleagues were transferred to Makindye Military Barracks were they were they were arraigned before Makindye Military Court and charged with illegal possession of live ammunition.

“The members, on or around the 3rd day of January 2021, while at Makerere Kavule, Kigundiu Zone, Kawempe Division in Kampala District were found in unlawful possession of four (4) rounds of live ammunition of AK47, the said ammunition being ordinarily a monopoly of the Defense Forces.” – Read part of the charge sheet

Five days to election, the dictatorship has arraigned 48 of my campaign team members, including @NubianBukenAli before a military court and charged them with illegal possession of ammunition! Lawyers, family members denied access to the court. They’ve been remanded!
