NUP’s Kyagulanyi to file election petition on Monday

National Unity Platform presidential candidate in the 2021 presidential race, Hon Kyagulanyi Robert alias Bobi Wine has confirmed that he will run to Supreme Court next week on Monday 1st February 2021, to contest presidential elections result.

The former presidential, through his lawyers Wameli and Company Advocates have notified the supreme Court that on Monday 1st February, 2021 Hon Kyagulanyi will be filing a petition contesting the election results.

Hon Kyagulanyi Robert, while addressing his supporters through his Facebook page last week said the 14th January 2021 elections were a “mockery of democracy” and the results there of could not be accepted.

He revealed that since January 17th, 2021 a number of well wishers have been encouraging him to go to court, while others advised him against it. He added that the people who discouraged him from going to court say he would be giving Museveni another term.

He however noted that his team was still consulting stakeholders and would in a few days inform the public their decision.

The National Unity Platform president didn’t agree with the results that were announced on the January 16th, 2021 in which the incumbent President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa was declared winner and while Hon Kyagulanyi of NUP came out as runner up.

According to Kyagulanyi, the NUP defeated the NRM and were supposed to be announced winners but the EC announced fake results which do not reflect what really happened.

He however called on his supporters and the entire country to use non-violent means to remove President Museveni the Dictator as he normally refers to him.

He also revealed that the NUP has collected enough evidence which they plan to flood the courts with to challenge President Museveni’s victory.

He also gave President Museveni an ultimatum of one year for him to vacate the State House.

“I have given Museveni only one year to get out of State House.”

Bobi WIne said that it is an insult to all Ugandans who have fougt for freedom and therefore refuses to accept the “fake” results that were announced by the Electoral Commission.
